How do I activate my gift card?

 

Why not activate via the TheirPerfectGift Smartphone app, to easily monitor balance and transactions? You can download the app for FREE from the AppStore/GooglePlay. Just hit the links.

Can I add funds to my card or withdraw cash?

I’m afraid it’s not possible to top up our Gift Cards. This is an anti-money laundering measure.

It’s also not possible to withdraw money from the card or move the funds to a Bank account.

If you want to buy something more than the value of the gift card, then why not use your bank debit/credit card for this purchase and our card for something more mundane, like an online grocery shop (that you’d have used your bank cards for)?

Is there a limit on how many times I can use my card?
We have a limit of POS transaction:
 
Maximum 10 per day; and
Maximum 50 per year.
I've not received a replacement card

If you have ordered a replacement card and not received it, please excuse the delay. We send the cards via Royal Mail. If it’s not there in 3 working days, then we can resend. Please get back in touch with us after this time has elapsed.

How do I check my card balance online?

Log back into www.cardportal.com, by ONLY using the SAN and Access code (NOT your email).

A 2nd AUTH code is sent to the email you had originally registered to the card. You should also check your spam/junk folder. This code is only valid for 5mins.

My card was rejected by a specific business

I’m afraid your card can only be used with Mastercard accepting retailers. Financial Services (“FS”) businesses are blocked, as they are not retailers.

Some retailers outsource their own Gift Cards to FS businesses, so this is why your card is being rejected.

Please spend directly with the retailer on their own goods/services and not on their Gift Cards.

I'd like to buy more than the card balance

You have the luxury to be able to spend your card with any Mastercard accepting retailer. But you must spend to the balance of the card.

If you are trying to spend online and the value of the item is more than your card balance, then why not use you bank debit/credit card for this higher value item and your TPG card on something more mundane, that you would have otherwise used your bank card for, ie. an online grocery shop?

If you’re able to use your card in store, then simply pay with the difference with your bank card / cash and ask the cashier to ring through the balance of your TPG Gift card.

I can't find my access code

Your access code was emailed to you. The email would have come from “activation@cardportal.com“. Please also check your spam folder and if applicable, the person that bought you the gift card.

My Gift Card has expired

All our cards have a 12month expiry date.

If the card has expired, please complete the Gift Card Re-Issue form here.

We urge you to do this quickly as Dormancy fees may be deducted from the balance, and there is a MC £5 renewal cost deducted from the balance to move the funds to a new card.

My gift card access is locked

The system will lock if you submit the wrong access details into Cardportal on 3 consecutive occasions. If this has happened please contact us.

How do I use my virtual card?

If you have a VIRTUAL card, then you can only use it online.

If you log back into www.cardportal.com, you’ll find all the info you need to make an online purchase:

– 16digit long card number;

– expiry date;

– cvv; and

– name and address is what you registered.

You use it just like a bank debit card, but you can ONLY use it online (not in-store or over the phone) and only to the balance on the card.

 Once activated, you can “add card” to the TheirPerfectGift smart phone app, which you can download for FREE from the AppStore/GooglePlay. Just hit the links.

How do I activate my virtual card?

So you have a virtual card.

In the email you received (or the person that purchased the card received), there was the SAN and the Access Code (directly below).

Please head back to www.cardportal.com.

Where it says SAN or Email – please ONLY enter the SAN;

And below it enter the 6digit Access code.

It will take you to a registration page, and there REPLACE ALL details you find with your own. 

And that’s it!
